Position Summary

The General Supervisor within Admissions plays a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the admissions team, ensuring efficient processing and evaluation of new student applications. This position involves managing a team of admissions professionals, coordinating workflow, and providing leadership to ensure that the team meets departmental goals and deadlines. The General Supervisor is responsible for monitoring the admissions process, ensuring all activities align with university policies and standards, and addressing any issues that may arise during the evaluation and processing of applications. As a supervisor, this role includes significant responsibilities related to managing personnel. The General Supervisor provides guidance, training, and support to admissions staff, ensuring they have the resources and knowledge necessary to perform their duties effectively. This includes overseeing the orientation of new employees, conducting performance evaluations, and recommending hiring or termination decisions. The General Supervisor also plays a key role in the professional development of staff, ensuring that team members are continually learning and improving their skills to better serve prospective students and meet institutional goals. In addition to personnel management, the General Supervisor in Admissions collaborates with other departments within Student Services and Enrollment Services to streamline processes and improve student recruitment efforts. This role requires a strong focus on team performance, with the General Supervisor accountable for achieving both short-term and long-term goals for the admissions department. The General Supervisor's decisions and leadership directly influence the success of the admissions process, ensuring that the university attracts and enrolls a diverse and qualified student body. This position provides a critical support function within the broader framework of university operations and student services.
