Position Summary

The Academic Manager within Registrar Services provides strategic and operational leadership for core academic recordkeeping functions, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and security of student records throughout the student lifecycle. This role is situated within the broader context of Student Services and Enrollment Services and plays a critical role in aligning registration, enrollment, and degree progress processes with university policies and student success goals. The manager oversees the daily operations of the registrar’s office, ensuring efficient service delivery to students, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders. In this role, the Academic Manager is responsible for implementing and executing registrar-related strategies, managing complex academic data systems, and ensuring compliance with institutional, state, and federal regulations, such as FERPA. The manager collaborates with departments across the university—including academic advising, financial aid, admissions, and academic departments—to support smooth academic progression, timely graduation, and accurate reporting. The role also provides oversight for initiatives such as course scheduling, grade processing, transcript issuance, and graduation certification, while ensuring a high standard of customer service and operational efficiency. At the M2 level in the academic administration and management track, the Academic Manager is accountable for the supervision of a team of professionals and support staff within the registrar unit. This includes managing workflows, conducting performance evaluations, handling employee relations matters, and contributing to long-term planning efforts. The manager sets unit goals, develops and enforces policies and procedures, and promotes staff development. This position requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and the ability to guide a team in the delivery of timely, compliant, and student-centered registrar services that support the academic mission of the university.
