General Manager, Student Financial Services

Student Financial Services
Student Financial Services provides financial aid eligibility and application counseling and assists in the administration of financial aid programs, which may include scholarship programs. Works with students and families to provide financial education, explain loan repayment options, terms, and conditions for private, institutional, state, and federal financial aid programs.

They are responsible for administrative oversight of individuals, including conducting recommendations for hiring and termination, writing evaluations, disciplinary actions, day-to-day oversight as well as long-term goal setting and accountability for the performance and productivity of the employees. Position Summary

The General Manager within Student Financial Services is responsible for overseeing the strategic management and operations of the financial aid department at the university. This includes directing the administration of financial aid programs, scholarship awards, loan repayment processes, and student counseling services related to financial planning. The General Manager ensures that the department meets its goals while adhering to federal, state, and institutional regulations. They play a key role in developing and implementing policies and strategies that enhance financial aid services for students, aiming to increase access to higher education and improve financial literacy among students and their families. In this role, the General Manager leads a diverse team of professionals, providing day-to-day oversight and long-term strategic direction. They are accountable for team productivity and performance, ensuring that all financial aid processes—from application to award—are managed efficiently and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The General Manager will oversee budgeting, resource allocation, and staffing, ensuring that the department's goals are aligned with the broader objectives of the university’s enrollment services. Additionally, they are responsible for setting department-wide goals, conducting performance evaluations, and guiding the professional development of team members. The General Manager also collaborates with various internal and external stakeholders, including other units within Student Services, to ensure a seamless student experience throughout the financial aid process. They represent the department in meetings, contribute to university-wide initiatives, and provide guidance to senior leadership regarding the financial aid needs and challenges facing students. Additionally, the General Manager ensures that the department delivers exceptional customer service, helping students navigate complex financial aid systems while maintaining the university’s mission of supporting student success through accessible education. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of financial aid processes, regulatory compliance, and leadership capabilities to effectively manage the department's strategic and operational functions.
