Counseling and Mental Health is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating mental, behavioral and emotional problems and disorders. Through discussion of emotions and experiences, uses evidence-based counseling techniques to help patients dealing with issues that affect their mental health and well-being. Helps patients come up with goals and plan action.

Position Summary

The Clinical professional position within Counseling and Mental Health is an intermediate-level role that focuses on providing direct therapeutic support to individuals experiencing mental, emotional, and behavioral challenges. As a key member of the counseling team, the Clinical professional will assess patients’ mental health needs, diagnose disorders, and provide treatment using evidence-based counseling techniques. This position involves conducting individual and group therapy sessions, developing treatment plans, and helping patients set actionable goals to improve their mental health and overall well-being. The role requires the ability to navigate complex patient situations while ensuring compassionate, client-centered care. In collaboration with other healthcare professionals, the Clinical professional helps facilitate the delivery of coordinated care across various service areas. This includes working with physicians, counselors, social workers, and other members of the care team to ensure that patients receive comprehensive support. The Clinical professional is also responsible for maintaining accurate documentation of patient progress, updating treatment plans, and ensuring confidentiality in accordance with organizational policies and ethical guidelines. While supervision and guidance are provided, the role expects the Clinical professional to demonstrate autonomy in delivering clinical services within established protocols. As an intermediate-level position, this role offers opportunities for professional growth and skill development in mental health counseling. The Clinical professional will gain experience working with diverse patient populations, learning advanced therapeutic techniques, and refining clinical judgment. Additionally, they may participate in training and supervision to enhance their clinical competencies and knowledge. The position is designed to prepare the Clinical professional for more independent roles in the future, providing a solid foundation for advancing within the counseling and mental health field.
