Health Education and Outreach is responsible for the health of the student and employee population, decreasing the impact of illnesses and diseases by encouraging healthy behavior through education and outreach. Provides health-related education guidelines, encouragement and support to individuals, while holding them accountable for achieving their health goals.

Manager: The positions work is achieved through the direction of others. Managers have direct accountability for setting goals and using resources. They are responsible for administrative oversight of individuals, including conducting recommendations for hiring and termination, writing evaluations, disciplinary actions, day-to-day oversight as well as long-term goal setting and accountability for the performance and productivity of the employees. Position Summary

The Academic Supervisor within Health Education and Outreach plays a vital role in advancing the academic and developmental success of students by integrating health promotion strategies with student services. This position supports the holistic well-being of the student and employee population through the development and oversight of educational programs aimed at promoting healthy behaviors, improving wellness literacy, and reducing health-related barriers to academic success. The supervisor works closely with departments across student services—including counseling, health and wellness, learning support, and student advocacy—to ensure seamless coordination of care and support tailored to diverse student needs. Functioning within the framework of Healthcare Services, the supervisor contributes to the effective delivery and transition of care across a range of health domains, including clinical services, mental health, and preventive education. In collaboration with healthcare professionals and student support staff, the supervisor ensures that health education and outreach programs are evidence-based, culturally responsive, and aligned with institutional health goals. The role requires strong coordination skills to organize patient education activities and health awareness campaigns, promoting wellness across the campus community. As a Level 1 Supervisor in the academic administration track, this position oversees a team of experienced professionals in health education and outreach. The supervisor is responsible for daily operations, staff orientation and training, workflow coordination, and performance management. They set short- and long-term goals for their team, ensure accountability, and make recommendations regarding staffing decisions. The role requires both strategic vision and hands-on leadership to support institutional priorities related to student health, academic performance, and overall community well-being.
