Oversees day-to-day residence experiences, operations, and functions for students living on campus and in university-owned properties. Develops a student community that is inclusive, academically and socially stimulating, and ensures student well-being and safety.

Position Summary

The Academic Coordinator within Residence Life plays a key role in the development, implementation, and management of student life programs within the university's residential communities. This position focuses on enhancing the student experience by supporting both academic and social programming that fosters community, engagement, and well-being in residence halls and university-owned properties. The Academic Coordinator collaborates with other Residence Life staff, faculty, and various campus departments to ensure a seamless integration of academic and personal development for students living on campus. In this role, the Academic Coordinator is responsible for overseeing daily operations of residence life, ensuring that programs are executed effectively and meet the diverse needs of students. This includes assisting with academic support initiatives, organizing events, managing student involvement, and facilitating student success programs that promote a healthy living-learning environment. The position also involves assessing student needs and program effectiveness, providing feedback for continuous improvement, and maintaining communication with students to ensure their academic and social needs are met. The Academic Coordinator works as part of a collaborative team, providing guidance and support to residence advisors and other student leaders in creating an inclusive and dynamic campus living environment. While they are expected to be proactive and take initiative, the role is designed for an individual contributor who can work within defined frameworks and collaborate with peers. This position requires experience in academic administration and student services, with a focus on coordinating programs and activities that promote student success within the residence life system.
