Executive
Executive: The positions work is achieved through the strategic direction of the organization as a whole. Executives have direct accountability for setting strategic goals and using resources. They are responsible for administrative oversight of a senior management area or other business unit with a universitywide scope of impact. These positions contribute to the highest-level panels and teams. The decisions made under the purview of the executive positions duties must routinely have direct impact on success across the university and impact the overall development of the university. Executive positions are reflected in the E1-E3 career track levels in the management/leadership track.
Level 1
Associate Executive: Accountable for annual execution of goals and objectives in area of responsibility; disseminates goals to direct reports and ensures goals are operationalized. Recommends and may approve policy for area of operational and/or functional control. Typically has multiple directors and managers as direct reports. Scope of responsibility is a university wide sub-function with multiple disciplines, or multiple functions within a college or business unit.

Position Summary

The Associate Academic Executive within Student Affairs plays a pivotal role in overseeing and advancing the strategic objectives of student services across the university. This position is responsible for the annual execution of goals within the student affairs sub-functions, which include but are not limited to academic advising, career services, student advocacy, health and wellness services, and student engagement programs. As an executive leader, this role ensures that these services are effectively operationalized, aligned with the institution’s broader educational goals, and deliver impactful outcomes for students. In addition to overseeing operational performance, the Associate Academic Executive collaborates with other senior leadership to develop and implement policies, strategies, and initiatives that improve the student experience. They are responsible for leading and guiding multiple directors and managers, ensuring that their teams work cohesively to support students’ academic and co-curricular development. This role requires a forward-thinking leader who can assess the needs of a diverse student population and adapt student services accordingly, while also ensuring that all departmental activities are integrated within the broader vision of the university. As a senior executive, the Associate Academic Executive will work closely with university leadership to establish priorities, allocate resources, and ensure the continuous improvement of student affairs functions. The individual in this role must possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of student development, and the ability to drive both student engagement and academic success through strategic planning and cross-functional collaboration. The Associate Academic Executive will also represent the student affairs division at the highest levels, making critical decisions that impact the overall student experience and contribute to the university’s mission of fostering a healthy, productive, and enriching learning environment.
