Deliver the programs, services, facilities and administrative functions that facilitate the co-curricular environment of a college or university and enhance the educational experiences of its students toward their self-exploration, learning and development.

Manager: The positions work is achieved through the direction of others. Managers have direct accountability for setting goals and using resources. They are responsible for administrative oversight of individuals, including conducting recommendations for hiring and termination, writing evaluations, disciplinary actions, day-to-day oversight as well as long-term goal setting and accountability for the performance and productivity of the employees. Managerial positions are reflected in the M1-M3 career track levels in the management/leadership track.

Position Summary

The Academic Manager within Student Affairs provides leadership and oversight for the planning and delivery of co-curricular programs and student support services designed to promote student development, engagement, and well-being. This role plays a critical part in supporting the university’s mission to foster a holistic student experience by integrating learning, personal growth, and career readiness into the broader campus environment. The manager ensures that services and programs align with institutional priorities and meet the diverse needs of the student population. This position is responsible for managing a team of professional and/or support staff, coordinating day-to-day operations, setting performance expectations, and supporting staff development. The manager leads the implementation of departmental strategies, ensuring the effective execution of student affairs initiatives across multiple functional areas such as student engagement, wellness programs, and support services. In addition to staffing and operational oversight, the manager monitors budgets and assesses program outcomes to ensure continuous improvement and resource alignment. Working collaboratively with other university departments and stakeholders, the Academic Manager contributes to creating a vibrant and inclusive campus community. The role fosters cross-departmental partnerships to support student success and retention while responding to emerging student needs. The manager also plays a key role in developing and refining policies, ensuring compliance with university standards, and advancing strategic goals through data-informed decision-making and innovative program design.
